Iowa City West Girls Track & Field

West High School is a diverse and exciting high school community with many opportunities for enrichment and growth. We are urban and rural, musical and athletic, American and foreign born. Being named one of “America’s Best High Schools,” West High is a high school noted for exemplary achievement in many areas. Not only is the graduation rate 98%, West High annually achieves large numbers of All-State Athletes, Musicians, and Speech and Debate teams. Opened in 1968 with only 500 students, West High has expanded to teach 1100 students in grades 9-12 with 125 teachers and another 75 support staff to assist students in achieving the highest quality learning experience.
